Rubina Sudharman disciple of Mohiniattam exponent Guru Pallavi Krishnan who started learning dance at the age of 4. Her talents and abilities in dancing was identified by her mother Mrs. Geetha Sudharman who was also a Bharatanatyam Dancer. She started her basics under Manorama Balakrishnan in Kannur. She later moved to Bangalore where she joined KALAVARIDHI an institute of Fine Arts under the tutelage of Smt. Vasudha Rao.
Rubina was trained into a fine performer and dancer under the guidance of Smt Vasudha Rao. She also passed her Basic and Senior Exams conducted by Karnataka Secondary Board of Education under the watchful eyes of Vasudha Rao. She performed her Arengetram which was highly applauded by the media and the press. Under Vasudha Rao she had the privilege of performing a number of dance dramas and ballets such as Purandara Dasa, Krishna Leela, Sheela Balikae, Mahishasura Mardini and so on.
Rubina later joined Shri Late B. R. Tulasiram to perfect her skills and do her master’s in Bharatanatyam. She completed her masters and achieved the Title of “Vidushi” in the year 1996 under B. R Tulasiram. She stood 4th rank in the state of Karnataka (INDIA) for this exam.
With her passion that grew fonder she underwent training in Mohiniattam from Kalamandalam Jayalaxmi (Calicut).
Rubina while in Bangalore used to run her own dance classes, after getting married and moving to Singapore, she worked with schools and various organizations teaching dance. she has also had the honor of judging various dance competitions in Singapore & India. She also has a passion for writing articles related to Arts. She has done a certification course about Hinduism and Spirituality by Harvard University
Currently she teaches Bharatanatyam and Mohiniattam in New Jersey USA.
